Benefits of drinking warm water with a fresh lemon are talked about SO much…so why do I bring it up? And more to the point…why do you have to read about it again? Well, for starters it boosts your metabolism and gets it kicking for the day, plus it assists in cleansing and detoxifying your digestive system.

Lemons are an excellent source of phosphorous which is required for the repair and a healthy functioning nervous system. The vibrant fruit is also a good source of sodium which is vital to assist in the natural process of eliminating waste and cleansing of the lymphatic system through stimulation of the liver and gallbladder.

For an easy, don’t-even-have-to-think-about-it way to make sure you add this to your daily routine, simply pre-chop your lemons (taking out the pips) and freeze in a zip-lock bag. All you have to do each morning is turn on the kettle, grab your favourite mug & throw in your frozen lemon slices. Ta-da!

Its best taken upon rising, prior to breakfast. Once I’ve done my duty to my body with this morning brew, I also like to put some fresh cold water in the mug and sip on this while I’m getting ready for the day ahead!
